Zee Café, the English general entertainment channel (GEC), was launched in March 2000. The channel is one of the most widely viewed English channels in India.

In recent times, Zee Café acquired the exclusive LIVE telecast rights to the most prestigious international beauty pageant- Miss World 2008 and 2009 and the most esteemed awards recognizing excellence and achievements amongst women, The Women's World Awards 2009.
